GLX Poker - Amerika Serikat (AS) mengancam mematok pajak hingga 100 persen untuk US$2,4 miliar barang-barang dari Prancis. Barang-barang tersebut, antara lain keju, minuman anggur, dan sampanye, termasuk produk kecantikan hingga tas tangan.
Mengutip CNN.com, Selasa (3/12), pejabat perdagangan AS mengusulkan gelombang tarif sebagai langkah pembalasan, setelah Prancis memungut pajak digital terhadap perusahaan teknologi raksasa AS, seperti Facebook dan Google.

Kantor Perwakilan Dagang AS menyadari usulan tarif atas barang-barang Prancis ini bisa mendorong perselisihan lebih lanjut antara Uni Eropa dengan Presiden AS Donald Trump.
Menanggapi hal itu, Menteri Keuangan Prancis Bruno Le Maire mengaku Uni Eropa akan bersiap membalas dendam terhadap sanksi AS tersebut. "Usulan tarif terhadap produk Prancis tidak dapat diterima. Ini bukan apa yang diharapkan dari sekutu, dari AS," tutur dia.

Merespon rencana tarif AS tersebut, saham barang-barang mewah Prancis merosot. Saham Hermes (HESAF) dan pemegang merek Gucci (PPRUF) masing-masing turun hingga 1,7 persen di Paris. Sementara, Louis Vuitton (LVMHF) melorot 1,9 persen.
Sebelumnya, Prancis membebani perusahaan teknologi AS dengan pajak digital sebesar 3 persen. Akibatnya, negara-negara Uni Eropa lain, seperti Spanyol, Italia, dan Inggris tengah mempertimbangkan langkah serupa untuk mematok pajak digital terhadap perusahaan teknologi AS.
